Two decades of service to the Pikes Peak region has had a significant impact for our community — particularly the young people The PLACE has served. Over the twenty years,
- The PLACE has helped an estimated 7,650 young people since its launch in December 2000.
- 1 in 3 young people engaged in our Shelter or Outreach programs permanently exited homelessness (2,525 over 2 decades). If the 2,525 young people who permanently left homelessness were to instead be on the street as a chronically homeless adult for just one year would cost taxpayers $89.8 million! ($35,578 per person, according to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, 2017).
- 8 of 10 who entered our Housing program maintain a stable home.
The support of our community means we can continue to provide the support and resources a youth needs to exit homelessness and live a self-determined life. We could not be more grateful.
